Sandeep Baskaran
I'm a design engineer who believes design is how we solve problems that actually matter—the kind that move revenue, shift perceptions, or make the old way obsolete. User empathy and good UX are the means, not the end.
By day, I work at IBM as a Senior UX Designer for the Z Infrastructure org, designing systems that help modernise enterprise legacy systems for today's teams. Before IBM, I worked with early-stage startups navigating the 0→1M and 1→10M journey.
I have a deep dislike for repetition—if I have to do something twice, I'll probably automate it. That's why I vibe code with my stack and build projects that save my time and solve things at scale.
Outside work, I mentor aspiring designers on career growth and knowledge workers on managing their time—schedule a call if that sounds helpful. I also create resources around design, AI, and productivity.
I lead communities in Chennai and Bengaluru, give occasional talks, and document my thoughts in writing. When I'm not designing or building, you might find me travelling—trying to reverse-engineer how cities work.
I'm not on social media much, but you can reach me on X/Twitter, LinkedIn, or Reddit. Not actively looking, but if you're curious about working together—here's my résumé.
